Pastel Partner & Xpress V11 - SARS Compliant

Pastel Partner & Pastel Xpress v11 was released and launched on the 1st June 2010, along with a great opportunity to upgrade your old software to the latest SARS compliant Pastel v11.

The main feature and reason behind the launch was due to the requirements SARS has in place regarding electronic documents as set out in the VAT act. Pastel has worked closely with SARS to ensure that the new Partner and Xpress v11 is fully SARS compliant and feature rich. See below for some of the great new features:

  • SARS requirment for 128 bit electronic document encryption for all customer and supplier documents, as well as a sample letter of consent.
  • Pastel Iron Tree online backup built in and enhanced
  • Audit trail of electronic documents
  • Changes on the VAT type report making it easier to reconile VAT
  • Multi-currency enhancements including reminders of exchange rates
  • Bank statement manager enhancements and add-ons
  • Foreign Currency module enhancements
  • Point of Sale enhancements incl USB compatibility & logo printing
  • Pastel fax facility

Pastel Cover (FAQ)

Over the past couple of weeks, I have fielded many calls with regards to the benefits of being a Pastel Cover member, as well as the general nature of the membership.

 As a result, I have created a list of frequently asked questions, which I hope with assist you with any queries regarding the initiative. If you have any other questions regarding the membership, or any other PASTEL product, please.

What is Pastel Cover?

Pastel Cover, in a sense, can be described as an annual technical warranty, which affords its members various benefits pertaining to different forms of support. When a client purchases Pastel Cover he/she will be entitled to various services and benefits for a 12 month period. 

What are the benefits of Pastel Cover?  

As a Pastel Cover member, you are entitled to various benefits including: free unlimited telephonic support, unlimited email support, free software upgrades, free software updates and more.

Free telephonic support as well as email support is essential, especially for new customers, who are not familiar with the software. For a reasonable annual free, members can eradicate the need for expensive call-out fees, and in most cases, save money in the long run.

How much does Pastel Cover cost? 

The cost of Pastel Cover is dependent on the type of Pastel Software package one purchases. Please click here  if you would like us to compile you a quotation for Pastel Cover. 

When can I buy Pastel Cover? 

Pastel customers are able to purchase cover whenever they please. However, customers with out-dated (older than version 8 / 2005) will have to update their Pastel software before they can purchase cover. In most cases these clients will be eligible for special deals. 

How long is cover valid for?  

Cover is valid for a 12 month periods, but can be renewed at the end of each period. At the end of each period, it is up to the customer whether they would like to renew, or cancel their membership. 

In most cases when I speak to customers regarding Pastel Cover, their initial reaction is poor, as they feel that we are trying to squeeze them for extra cash. However, this can only be described as shortsightedness. Members almost always save money, as they are able to upgrade to the latest version of Pastel free of charge, and by eradicating the need for costly on-site the support.

What's new with Pastel Accounting 2009 

Several new Pastel modules have been created this year to compliment your Pastel software, and streamline your business processes.

Pastel Bank Manager  

Pastel Bank Manager allows users to download their company's bank statements via their online banking service. With a click of a mouse, Pastel Bank Manager will import the data directly from the bank statement, saving hours, which would have been spend in manually capturing the information. 

Pastel Point of Sales

New functionality includes multiple cash-ups, barcode scanning, passport protection and more. Specific users settings per users and per document allows tellers to change fields, which can be restricted by a password. An offline processing system is also offered.

Optimize your debtors collection books with Pastel Cash Manager. This debtor collection system creates automatic chase-up lists, provides reconciliations for invoices that are outstanding (per debtors), monitors the status of payments and keeps track of calls made to debtors.

Pastel Training 2009 

Maximise the benefits from your Pastel software now! 

Would you buy a new car without learning how to drive first? Probably not. So why do so many Pastel users opt to 'teach' themselves the program with little or no knowledge of the package. 

Time and time again Pastel Users operate the software for a financial period, and at the end of the year waste money on costly call-out-fees to rectify the system and 'balance the books.' 

Two hours of Pastel training  can help users maximise their investment in the software, as they are able to fully utilize all the programs benefits.

 After purchasing a package we always recommend our clients to 'play' around on the system for a couple of days before the scheduled training session commences.
